My New Goals:
1) Keep up with studies
2) Read fiction/ poetry most days of the week
3) 5 minutes of pranayama at least 5 times a week
4) Write, rewrite and analyse one new poem a week (scheduled for Wednesday nights.)
5) Read one fiction writing related article at least once a week.
6) Continue with prep work for the 2nd draft of a novel.
I've failed on goals 1, 2 and 5 so far since setting all my goals out in my last check in. I decided not to keep up with studies as I was going to be working on it for a few days and then from tomorrow I'm away for nearly two weeks so I'll throw myself back into studying when I return.
I don't know how my reading goal went out the window but I'm planning on doing plenty of reading by the pool until I return. Looking forward to getting started on Adam Nevills "Ritual. Goal 5 I'm hoping to do today.
Goal 4 is part complete. I've written a new poem which I would like to expand. So far no poems have been rewritten and I've not typed up my analysis for the new poem yet.
Goal 3: I managed to do my 5 minutes of deep breathing every night since the 17th Aug. I'm hoping to keep up with this while I'm away.
Goal 6: Have now filled in my novels timeline for the 1st two chapters and figured out a more dramatic solution to my messy beginning.
Hope you're all doing great, and I'll see you when I return:

Have a great vacation Katy! The recharge time should be helpful in the long run :)
Ditto what Gene said. Sometimes we have to take one step back to go two steps forward. Enjoy the vacay. ;-)
Funny, I hadn't read your list before prepping my check-in for today. Seems we're on the same page: Itemize our goals; then evaluate our progress. Like you, I'm on track with some goals, and others are in a state of flux. Enjoy your time away, Katy. TTFN
I have to cycle through my goals at times, Katy. Some days I concentrate on one or two, and the others fall behind, then I move those to the front and the others fall back. It sounds like you are doing the same.
This far into the Round, you are doing very well; enjoy the time by the pool with some good books!
Nancy
have a great holiday and return with a supercharge on batteries - take care
I like how you have your goals set up. Sounds like you are doing very well. Enjoy your time off. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Gene and Kerry. Nancy, that's exactly what I've been doing. Wish I could gt into a better flow of moving from one item to another though.
Thanks free2soar, Alberta and Wendy. A major supercharge is needed. Take care.
Have a great vacation. Great idea making pranayama a goal. I've totally given up on my yoga and breathing exercises. Need to get back into it.
You have very specific goals...mine are pretty vague. Congrats on your progress and enjoy some more deep breathing.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks Robin, I'm hoping that once I'm disciplined enough to breath, I'll be able to move back into yoga.
Thanks Laurel-Rain, I try to keep myself on specifics. Have fun.
Congrats on your progress thus far and have a wonderful vacation. Good luck this coming week with your goals!
